In the third phase of Lok Sabha elections, held on Tuesday across 93 constituencies spread over 11 States and Union Territories, a voter turnout of 60.19% was recorded by 5 p.m., with sporadic incidents of violence reported in West Bengal.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi declared on May 7th that if the INDIA bloc comes to power, they will abolish the Agniveer scheme, alleging it was initiated by PM Narendra Modi and not by the Army.

During a rally in Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his desire for 400 seats in Lok Sabha to prevent Congress from allegedly exploiting the OBC quota for their vote bank. He cited utilizing their majority in the past 5 years, including NDA, regional parties, and Independents, to revoke Article 370.

The third phase of Lok Sabha polls in West Bengal saw sporadic incidents of violence in four constituencies as TMC, BJP, and Congress-CPI(M) workers clashed in various parts of Murshidabad and Jangipur seats.

Over 1,300 candidates, including around 120 women, contested in the third phase. Notable candidates included Union ministers Amit Shah (Gandhinagar), Shivraj Singh Chouhan (Vidisha), Digvijya Singh (Rajgargh), Jyotiraditya Scindia (Guna), Mansukh Mandaviya (Porbandar), Parshottam Rupala (Rajkot), Pralhad Joshi (Dharwad), and S.P. Singh Baghel (Agra).
